Welcome to the second ever Charity Checkpoint!
In this Checkpoint we'll start with some basic mathematics, slowly expanding it and building upon it , to get to Quantum Mechanical spin, which we'll hopefully eventually be able to connect to NMR and real life applications in chemistry.
This entire page will be chronological, in order of when were the sources created, so make sure to get back to it every now and then to see what's new.
First we shall start this checkpoint with the end, two livestreams to show us what the end of our journey will look like, now you don't have to understand the information conveyed here on the first watch, we will cover all of it more in depth later regardless, but it is a good starting point for our journey, to see what lies ahead.
In this livestream me and Remko start with basic classical mechanical concepts and build them up, and up, and down until we get to the quantum mechanical concept of "Spin" (not to be confused with just... "spin")
Whilst in this livestream me and Flaym are concerned with more practical aspects of spin and so much more. The biggest star of the experiment actually did end up being Mechanochemistry, which has very little to do with spin, but fortunately in order to verify the findings of this experiment we do need to use solid state NMR, which revolves all round spin
And that is it, that is the big price we'd like to get to, describing NMR from quantum mechanical principles, and I will not lie, it is a mighty task, but I have faith that we can in fact MAKe iT happen.
